Nature

Hello Loves,

There is no problem too big for nature to solve.

Nature is the soothsayer. The mystic. The healer. The Wise One. The magician. The teacher. The mother.

I take all of my worries, fears, doubts, woes, and insecurities to nature. She is my greatest companion.

I’ll meander along a trail deep into a forest, and lose myself amongst the trees and bramble. I walk across dirt, needles, leaves, and step over roots and fallen branches. I soak in the greenness of everything alive and thriving. We are connected. I study the fungi. I press my fingers into the softness of moss or drag them across the rough bark of an old tree. I listen to the bird song start and stop as I take each step. Hear the wind whisper to me through the trees.

Or maybe I’ll sit on a rock next to a river and feel the power of her waters. Watch the creatures that slip in and out of her, or come to sip at her shore. Notice the stones she glides over with ease. Or maybe I’m at a lake, squatting next to her lapping water, listening to its rhythm. And the ocean. Wow. She is everything. The ocean is the love of my life. She sustains me in everyway. She cleanses and purifies my body, mind, and soul.

Sometimes I’m on a mountain top or in a valley or in a wide open field, and sometimes I’m in a simple park or a community garden. They are all tastes of nature.

There are days, even amongst all of this glory, that my mind continues its relentless shouting at me. But I know eventually it will quiet down. This has always been my experience. And when it does, when I’m taken over by the pure, raw, perfection of this planet, I’m enveloped with gratitude. My mind always succumbs to the beauty. And when it lets go of its resistance to what is, I am an open conduit and an open heart for love and healing.
