January Reflections

Jan 31, 2024

Hello Loves,

Happy New year!

For me, the year 2024 is the year of ACTION. And with it being the Year of the Dragon, I am holding on to this wild ride like a cowgirl on a bucking bronco. Bring. It. On. This double fire sign is ready and willing.

January has been a roller coaster ride with some exciting and terrifying forward movements. My memoir is out to editors and publishers. My literary agents at Transatlantic Agency are working so hard for me and I’m forever grateful for their skills, talents, and perseverance. Thank you!

I’ve been on the hunt  to buy a home for the last few years and I finally found the perfect place. Tall ceilings, big windows facing a forest, a patio for a garden and a space to write. It is brand new, sparkly, and peaceful. I move in one month! Thank you!

And I’m getting married this summer. Yippee for me! I’ve rented a log-cabin-vibe hall for the ceremony, and we will eat and dance and be merry with friends and family from far and wide. Long live our partnership and love. Thank you!

Also, I’m going to Iceland for my honeymoon! This has also been a years long dream. I’ll get to witness the beauty of the ocean and land and enjoy hiking and waterfalls, and nature, and hot springs, and food, and culture, and mountains and wild open spaces. Thank you!

I’ll be teaching my creative writing workshop this spring called – Write From Your Heart-From Wounded to Warrior. In March I’ll continue to teach this 4 week workshop at my local women’s resource center for free. I will also be now offering this workshop to the public, with its first run in April. Thank you!

I am in awe with how far I’ve come in life. Thank you!

I read this quote this morning from yung pueblo and I want to share it with you:

pick the path that lights you up

the one you know deep down is the right choice

stop listening to doubt

start connecting with courage

do not let the idea of normal get in the way

it may not be the easy path

but you know great things take effort

lean into your determination

lean into your mission

lean into the real you
